 Recon Optical is headquartered in Barrington, Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago
Recon Optical also has offices in Alexandria, Virginia, with sales and service representatives worldwide.

Our facilities were designed and constructed for research, development, manufacturing, testing and support of sophisticated optical, electronic and mechanical systems. Features include:
- Specialized technology development laboratories
- Precision optomechanical assembly and test centers
- Surface-mount electronics fabrication
- Optical fabrication and coating
- Specialized production facilities supporting both advanded; cell-based, lean-manufacturing; and optical manufacturing
- Areas for research and development, business development, logistics support and repair/overhaul capabilities, as well as support functions
In addition, we have a well-trained staff, experienced in providing complete system support from proposals and design/development through manufacturing, quality assurance and testing, and logistics. Our capabilities include:
- Processes certified to ISO-9001/2000, MIL-I-45208, MIL-Q-9858 and DI-9000
- System performance modeling, validation and verification
- Component/system test and integration
- Support functions, such as installations, safety, documentation (e.g., test plans, manuals) and worldwide spares/repairs/overhauls
