Design/Production Capabilities
Our design and production engineers are experienced with materials such as optical glasses, zinc sulfide, zinc selenide, Tuftran, Cleartran, germanium, silicon, and AMTIR. In addition, we have developed the capability to work large sections of sapphire to excellent transmitted wavefront quality and very small residual wedge. And our manufacturing capacities can productionize a variety of long- and short-run requirements. Our glass fabrication unit contains all the conventional spindles, continuous lap polishers, and other high-speed equipment (including our latest LOH Synchro-120) needed to produce a high-quality product on time and within budget. Our optical coating unit is set up to handle non-radioactive materials, standard dielectrics and metals, and hard carbon. Our precision machining unit can fabricate aluminum alloys, stainless steels, titanium and plastics, and our assembly unit provides interferometric centration, collimation and precision air-bearing assembly.
